It seems that every now and then, especially when things are going well, that I begin to feel that I am responsible for my success and well-being. I find it so easy to forget that every moment, every success, every triumph, and even every lesson from failure . . . is a gift from God. This song is a reminder that we should always remember that we are here as part of God's plan. Not our plan. Not our desires. Not our own selfish needs. "Every now and then I think I can make it on my own" . . . but I can't. Without God I am nothing.
